The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Windham county until 9:00pm EDT.
At 7:41pm doppler radar indicated a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. These storms were located along a line extending from 9 miles southwest of Stratton to Pownal to Berlin or along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Arlington to 6 miles northwest of North Adams to 13 miles west of North Adams and moving east at 20 mph. In addition to damaging winds continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
A severe thunderstorm watch continues in Windham County through 11:00pm tonight, and the flash flood warning continues through Tuesday morning.
