Sunday Updates from Wilmington

Updates from Wilmington’s town website –

Clean up work is progressing well in the village.  Please do not bring cars to the West Main Street area.  Gloves and masks and a pass are needed to work on West Main.  (Guidance from Vermont DOH on cleanup gear is here.)

For the coming week, volunteers (must be over 18) should check in at the new chamber office at 14 E Main St (behind Split Ends) to be connected to a business or property owner that needs help. If you are a business or property owner who needs volunteers, please stop in the chamber office or email to let us know what you need, and we will set you up. Thank you!

The shelter at the high school will be closing this evening after dinner hours.  American Red Cross will have a trailer at the Sunoco Station (corrected location) on East Main Street and will supply some cold meals to those in need.

The Emergency Operations Center trailer is operating from 9-5 daily – located next to the Rescue Barn on Route 100 South, phone number re is 464-8593.  The Fire Station is up and operating as well (464-8022 non-emergency number.)

EPA has checked the HS playing fields for toxicity  – cleanup will be done by the field contractor and fields should not be used until that process is complete.
